What affects the price
- Billable weight. Carriers charge for the greater of the actual weight and the dimensional weight, which reflects how much space a package takes up.
- Route. International shipments involve export and import steps and usually cost more than domestic ones.
- Service. Faster services cost more. Sea freight is slower but often cheaper for heavy goods.
- Size and handling. Very long or heavy packages can attract handling surcharges.
- Fuel and extras. Fuel surcharges change over time; optional cover and special handling are extra.
- Duties and taxes. Import charges are set by the destination country and are not part of the shipping price.
